Thank you guys for visiting me!
It’s almost like an anniversary…
Alison and I became acquaintances… and then friends…and now I am her assistant!! …
It’s been barely a year since we have gotten to know each other and I can’t believe how quickly our friendship and working relationship developed…
One day she was hearting my pillow on instagram… and the next I am designing and working with an incredible, hardworking, creative designer. WHATTTTTTT???!!!! I know right?
I am so excited to finally be able to blog about our 1st quilt pattern. Feathers.
I am squealing right now as I look at the above quilt. This was my first pattern run through and I had decided to keep it simple… I used Robert Kaufman Kona Cottons in my favorite 3 colors. When I finished it I knew exactly who I was going to send it to… Emerson Quilting !! Emily is just phenomenal. This is the second quilt I have sent to her and it just keeps getting better. THANK YOU EMILY… You took my breath away. OH also… Emily is a nominee for Martha Stewart American Made so PLEASE vote for her 🙂
I am especially excited about the flexibility of this paper piecing pattern. When purchasing patterns I am always brainstorming ways that I can use it in unique ways; Feathers was no exception.
I made the above pillow for my friend Mel… She just moved into her new house and I wanted to make her something special. I love pillows because they allow me to get an idea out of my head without the time investment of a quilt… I totally see more of these in my future.
I selected Template M and N… (Just incase you want to create a similar one)
Alison and I also wanted to make sure that the pattern could be used without sashing too. It definitely changes the feathers look to a more chevron zigzag look depending on the templates you choose. For this zippy pouch I chose to scale the pattern to 45%. Don’t forget that when you do any scaling of templates… you have to make sure your seams are redrawn to a 1/4 inch.
I was also able to finish up this baby quilt using Andover Textured Solids… Let me tell you they are so soft. It almost makes me want to have another baby to wrap up… NO not really… 🙂 I really can’t explain how yummy this quilt feels.
I am sure by now you have seen the breathtaking giveaway on Alison Glass Designs…. but it you haven’t YOU NEED TO ENTER its super easy and will be going on for the full duration of the blog hop.
The Feather’s Pattern can be purchased in Alison’s Shop!
Do you see the amazing list of talent below… stop by to see what they are up to there may be awesome prizes along the way… HINT HINT.

WOW! Your purple and blue feathers and Emily’s quilting are just awesome. I also like your pouch and baby quilt too. Thanks for the opportunity to win this great pattern!
What an awesome pattern! Great job!:D
OM! another gorgeous quilt to add to my endless “to-do” list! It’s really beautiful!
I like them all, but I especially love that baby quilt. Maybe it’s the colors. I would love to see that one in person and feel it. I would love to make one similar to that.
This is, hands down, the best quilt design I’ve seen this year!!!! I fell in love with AG’s bike path last year and between the new fabric line and your collaboration/design of this pattern, it just keeps getting better. Thanks so much for the chance to win.
Great quilt design. You girls are very talented. Thanks for sharing with the rest of us.
Its really versatile! I would use it to make some pillows for my bedroom! Thanks!
Gorgeous quilt design – would look great on a tote bag. Thanks!
I feel the same as you do about pillows! Just can’t get enough of them, and the pattern is perfect for them. Thanks for the giveaway, and congrats on a wonderful design.
I love how versatile this quilt pattern is. All of your examples are amazing! Thanks for the inspiration and giveaway.
Wow your quilt is gorgeous. Thanks for being part of this wonderful blog hop
The feathers quilt is gorgeous & the quilting is amazing. I love paper piecing. Thanks for the chance to win.
I would love to incorporate the design in a tote. Thanks for the chance.
I’d want to make a gorgeous quilt like yours or the pillow. Both are super.
So proud of you sweet friend!!! You have done an AMAZING job!!! I still have a hard time keeping Max off the pillow! 😉 xoxo
I would do the same pattern you used on the zipper pouch, but apply that to seat cushions. I think a minimal (just a small amount if colored feathers) approach would be really cool on my new chairs.

I love this pattern and have just started paper piecing. Thanks for the chance to win this pattern.
Super pattern! I would probably try a cushion too, but a skirt panel would also look great!
I love this pattern, love what you have made from it too! I think the quilt would be so nice to make but I would probably want a bag with the feather patchwork on the front.
Cool zipper pouch design. Love that quilting.
Love the quilting on your solids quilt! Thank you for the different ideas on using the pattern!
Your quilt and the quilting on it are beautiful. Thank you for sharing. I wonder how I could incorporate your design on a tote? Thanks for the chance to win a copy of your pattern.
Very fun!
Love this pattern. I’d try to make a quilt like yours.
I’d love to adapt the pattern for a tote bag, but I’d really like to make the quilt.
This quilt is beautiful and the quilting is absolutely breathtaking!! I can see why you use Emerson Quilting. I have bookmarked her site for future reference and will be following you via bloglovin. Thanks for the opportunity to win your pattern!
What an awesome pattern! Thanks for the chance to win!
What a great pattern!
I love Alison’s new fabric line!
This blog tour is so cool! Thanks for being a part of it. And the pattern is great! I like the idea of a flexible pattern.
Love the feathers quilt pattern. Love Alison’s new line.
Thanks for the chance to win.
I think this pattern would be great for a baby boy quilt. Love all your work!
Beautiful pattern, but what a feast the quilting!
Congratulations on your anniversary working with Alison. I hope to be in your shoes one day, assisting one of out Fabric/Quilting Mavens and try our their creations before they go to market. The zipper pouch you made is awesome! It looks as though the feathers are popping right off of it. I am redecoration my master bedroom right now and I think that either the aqua or the purple Feathers would look fantastic as the new dust ruffle on our bed. It would also make a cute ruffle on the hand towels in our powder room. Now I just have to get my hands on some of this fabric so the I can get a move on all the things I want to do! Thank you for sharing with us and I am going to add Emerson Quilting to my address book for future reference!
The quilt is amazing and the way Emily quilted it, is just phenomenal!
Love the quilt and the bag! Deconstructed feathers, that is just too cool.

I would love to make a little girl’s dress with the feathers pattern in the circle skirt.
Oh, I would be making a quilt with the lovely Frippery FQ pack I won–I think the colors and designs would be perfect for this gorgeous pattern!
I would love to make the full quilt with the pattern, but I can also imagine it working well on cushions, tea towels, bags, clothes…pretty much everything! Love the colours of your quilt.
These are amazing and i have to admit to loving the tiny purse the most.
