When I first taught myself how to quilt, I would scour the internet looking for scrap bundles that I could buy in order to make my quilt as scrappy as possible… without going crazy buying yards and yards of fabric. I think back to that simple time when my problem was not having enough of a variety of fabrics to choose from… I would never have imagined being here now. Where storing, sorting and staring at my little possibilities are part of my daily routine. I know it can be difficult to come up with ideas on how to use your scraps so I encourage you to check out this amazing book I am so honored to be apart of.
Scraps, Inc. Vol 2 is beautiful compilation of modern quilts that are designed with the intention of using up those scraps. I not only had the awesome opportunity to photograph this book, but I created a really fun quilt pattern for it too!
Meet Blacklight. I wanted to create a pattern that was useful for larger scraps… you know the fat quarter that you used a chunk of… but now it is too big for your scrap bin and too small to be folded all pretty on your shelf. Its also great with using thin strips!
I also really want to make this quilt in all solids… ohh black and white… or all the liberty prints with all white tiny strips. AHH so many awesome ideas. So hop to it… I can’t make them all myself 🙂
I couldn’t decide which other patterns were my favorite because they are all so good, so here are a few of my favorite photos in the book.
